Nestlé enters low FODMAP category with ProNourish
We end our gallery with the ProNourish Low FODMAP Nutritional Drink from Nestlé Health Science - claimed to be "the first nationally distributed product of its kind designed and marketed specifically to be low in FODMAPs [Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides And Polyols - short-chain carbohydrates that can be poorly absorbed in the small intestine and lead to abdominal discomfort] for people with digestive sensitivities."
Each 8oz serving of ProNourish - designed to "provide a worry-free choice for breakfast, a mini-meal or on-the-go snack for those wanting to follow a low FODMAP diet" - has 170 calories, 15g protein, 3g of low FODMAP fiber and 25 essential vitamins and minerals.
According to Nestlé Health Science - which described the emerging science related to following a low FODMAP diet as "compelling" - there are more than 80 million US consumers living with persistent digestive sensitivities: "We know clinical evidence shows that the low FODMAP diet does provide relief for digestive symptoms in some people, and we want to help make a meaningful impact on these people’s lives."
