Conagra Brands sells Wesson to J.M. Smucker for $285m

Conagra Brands has struck a $285m deal to sell its Wesson edible oil brand to J.M. Smucker as it continues to re-engineer its portfolio.

"We continue to reshape our portfolio and focus our resources on priorities that support Conagra's business strategy and drive value creation for shareholders​," said CEO Sean Connolly, who said Conagra would continue to make products under the Wesson brand (vegetable, canola, corn and blended oils) and provide certain other transition services for up to one year after the deal closes.
