Good, bad and ugly fats... but which are which?
The latest soyfoods and health survey shows that many consumers are still confused about which fats to avoid, however. While 86% agreed that omega-3s are healthy, and four out of 10 agreed that poly- and mono-unsaturated fats are healthy, a third felt partially hydrogenated oils (which create harmful trans fats) are healthy, while just over a fifth said trans fats (which are bad news for our cardiovascular system) are healthy.
