Duravant, a robotics and machinery supplier to blue chip meat processors, has acquired Massachusetts-based Ohlson Packaging for an undisclosed sum.

The takeover enhances Duravant’s portfolio of food processing machinery, bringing Ohlson Packaging’s mix of linear weighers, vertical baggers, pouch machines, rotary tables and more under Duravant’s ownership.

Ohlson president ‘very excited’

Founded in 1967, Ohlson Packaging has built up a respectable client portfolio, working with food industry heavyweights including Kraft Foods, Tyson Foods​ and Maple Leaf Foods​. Cosmetics big pharma and hardware are other sectors that Ohlson Packaging, a manufacturer of automatic and semi-automatic machines, works with.

On the takeover launched by Duravant, Ohlson said the business was “very excited about joining Duravant​”.
