GALLERY: Trendspotting at Sweets & Snacks Expo
At the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago last week, FoodNavigator-USA saw multiple reinterpretations of the classic chip including Avolov’s avocado chip in three flavors of chili lime, Himalayan pink sea salt, and sriracha. Seaweed snack brand Sea Snax has also made a play into chips using brown rice flour adhered to seaweed, forming chip bite size pieces.
Mushroom chips were also on display. Mudlrk (more on them next week) made its debut at the show with its range of shiitake mushroom chips in classic flavors including black pepper, honey onion mustard, and spicy buffalo. Also new to show, were ‘Shrooms,' part of an extensive mushroom-based snack range, which also included bars and clusters.
