Food Fraud and Food Safety

Food fraud, including food adulteration, counterfeiting and substitution has always been an industry concern and is gaining interest once again as an economic and emerging food safety risk, especially when considering the global and complex nature of the food supply chain.
In this paper, Dr Mitesh Patel, Leatherhead Food Research’s Senior Research Scientist, will aim to define and highlight recently emerged food fraud issues and their impact and implication to the food industry and authorities as an increasing risk factor to food safety.
