The world population is estimated to grow from 6.8 billion to 9 billion by 2050. How we address this demand for sustainable, healthier food is critical. In conjunction with the launch of XIVIA™ (​Xylitol manufactured by Danisco), Danisco has released the results of an independent Life Cycle Assessment study. XIVIA™​ far outperformed Xylitol made using corn cobs and the biomass method on all sustainability categories –as much as 99% less impactful than a biomass method.

This paper presents the results of this study on XIVIA™​ and its claims as one of the industry’s most sustainable sugar substitutes.
