Kellogg has unveiled its InGrained initiative to help farmers reduce their climate impact in the Lower Mississippi River Basin where much of the rice for the company’s Rice Krispies and Special K cereals is produced.
A decrease in breakfast cereal sales and a product recall for RXBar – initiated ‘out of an abundance of caution’ – have impaired Kellogg’s first-quarter earnings.
Kellogg’s is planning to cut 223 jobs in at the ready-to-eat cereal (RTEC) plant on Porter Street in Battle Creek, US, in 2018, in a move to streamline and decrease the total cost-per-pound costs, which will improve margins.
