The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) is running pathogen control training workshops to help dairy processors comply with the requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act.

Passed into law earlier in the year, the new legislation puts more stringent food safety requirements in place for US food manufacturers. The IDFA and the Innovation Center for US Dairy have therefore recruited 10 dairy food safety experts to educate the industry on pathogen control guidelines, techniques and approaches.

The first workshop will take place 26-27 July in Rosemont, Illinois, and will be followed by another session September 21-22 in Atlanta, Georgia.
