AB Enzymes buys enzyme business

AB Enzymes claims that the move will add to its existing strength in the global enzymes market. Commenting on the acquisition, Colin Simmonds, Group Commercial Director of ABITEC, said: "The move to acquire Gamma Chemie is in keeping with the need to provide our customers with detailed technical support. Therefore, this acquisition is not only a 'good fit' both commercially and technically, it also allows us to achieve an even higher level of customer service." According to AB Enzymes Gamma Chemie is a distributor with particular strengths in enzyme formulations for the fruit processing, brewing and distilling industries. The family-owned Gamma Chemie business has a geographical reach that stretches from its Munich base to, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary. It also has extensive business throughout Germany. AB Enzymes reported that Gamma Chemie will continue to trade independently but will now have increased financial, technical research and commercial support from its parent company. After completion of the acquisition, Dr Wolfgang Braun, managing director of AB Enzymes, will also become managing director of Gamma Chemie. Dr Braun commented in a statement: "In geographical terms, Gamma Chemie provides an excellent opportunity to expand AB Enzymes' presence throughout Europe, especially the CEE." The key strength of Gamma Chemie lies in its technically-qualified sales and customer support personnel all of whom have high standard qualifications in relevant food science or biochemistry disciplines. This will provide further fuel enabling the continuing growth ambitions of AB Enzymes GmbH.

AB Enzymes buys enzyme business

German enzyme company AB Enzymes, a subsidiary of ABITEC Group, the food ingredient and specialty chemicals group, announced this week that it has acquired Gamma Chemie, a German-based enzyme business.
