Acatris predicts major UK growth

Dutch-based health and food ingredients company Acatris is set to expand its sales network for health ingredients in the UK. In a statement this week, it claimed that the UK was likely to be one of the top three European markets in terms of growth in the health ingredients market. "The opportunities in the UK market are enormous," said Harry Christiaens, managing director of the Acatris group. "We have been successful with one or two products in that market, but we believe that there is more potential for other products in our portfolio. Having dedicated sales people actually based in that market is essential for further growth." Acatris has appointed a new UK sales manager for the direct distribution of the company's health ingredients. Delphine Barthes will be responsible for the marketing and distribution of the Acatris' Life-line products, to include SoyLife, FenuLife and LinumLife. "Our objective is to fully establish Acatris UK in the coming year," she said. "We already have long-term customers in the UK and we will use our knowledge and expertise to enhance our growth, " she continued. Acatris was formed earlier this year through the merger of food and health ingredients companies Daminco, Orffa Health & Nutrition, Schouten USA and SoyLife.

Newly-formed Acatris is planning a major assault on the UK market and has predicted that Britain will be among the top three growth markets for its health ingredients.
