Synergy Flavors acquires Vanlab

Synergy Flavors has acquired New York-based Vanlab Corporation in a
move designed to strengthen the company's overall product mix
across sweet and savory flavours.

The company claims that the acquisition gives Synergy an industry-leading position in a broad range of vanilla products.

"The acquisition offers significant benefits to our customers throughout the food, beverage, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries,"​ said Roderick Sowders, president of Synergy Flavors.

"Vanlab's extensive range of vanilla products, including organic vanilla, is backed by nearly 100 years experience in the market. Vanlab also offers an excellent range of flavors that both complement and extend our overall offer to the market."

Vanilla crucial to a wide variety of food and beverage applications, including baked goods, sodas, candies, syrups, ice cream and soya milk.

David Patton, the former owner of Vanlab, said that he has been impressed by the similarities of culture between Vanlab and Synergy.

"Vanlab is an excellent company that has grown substantially in recent years,"​ he said.

"I believe that Synergy will be excellent stewards of the Vanlab tradition going forward."

The acquisition of Vanlab will increase Synergy's business in the US. The company said that business operations at the two locations will remain intact for the foreseeable future.

Synergy Flavors is a member of the Irish-based Carbery Group, an international food ingredients and cheese company. Synergy creates flavors in a full range of natural, artificial, organic, and suitable for organic flavors for food and beverage manufacturers worldwide.
