Sports Beverage Company uncorks new capacity

The investment follows the company’s joint venture with the United Packaging Group and will focus on filling pouches with UPG’s enhanced water and beverage lines. “ The purchase of our third filling machine is a significant milestone for the company,” said Gil Arvizu, chief executive officer with the Sports Pouch Beverage Company. “ The purchase of this machine considerably increases our ability to generate sales of over $6m (€4.7m) annually from this machine alone .” Light-weight pouch The Sports Pouch Beverage Company carries exclusive US rights to the pouching machine that, according to the company, “ utilizes a flexible, light-weight pouch, combined with an easy-to-use, re-sealable, pull-push spout that is environmentally friendly .” Meanwhile, the joint venture between Sports Pouch Beverage Company and UPG will soon lead to a new line of children’s vitamin enriched flavoured beverages, said Arvizu. “ Over the coming weeks we expect to make a number of significant announcements that clearly demonstrate that our product line is gaining major traction through some of the major retail and club stores nationwide ,” he added. Last September, Arvizu announced that UPG, a leading water and beverage bottling plant, would offer the Sports Pouch beverage technology to the company’s home delivery, institutional and retail customers. Proprietary packaging “ Our joint venture with UPG reinforces that our proprietary packaging has great marketability, not only because of its innovative practical design, but because it represents significant cost savings in the single serve aseptic juice/drink sector ,” said Arvizu. Based in Cotton, California, UPG specializes in the blending and bottling of enhanced water and beverage lines. The Sports Pouch Beverage Company was established to produce pull-push spout technology liquid pouch packaging and to apply the technology to new beverage brands.

Californian drinks firm Sports Pouch Beverage Company has confirmed the purchase of its third filling machine for the packs, which is expected to boost production capacity by an extra 20m products over the next year.
