The Go Organic! for Earth Day campaign has announced plans to piggyback on Earth Day activities for the fifth year running on April 22.

The program is designed to raise awareness of organic foods and drive organic sales and is a collaboration between the Organic Trade Association, Earth Day Network and MusicMatters.

Director of education at Earth Day Network Sean Miller said: "The Go Organic! for Earth Day campaign has made major inroads into helping Americans understand that organic is worth it. It encourages people to try organic products. It raises awareness about how organic products are the best choice for our health and the health of the planet.”

The campaign includes web and email marketing, posters and merchandising.

The Earth Day Network claims that over 1bn people take part in Earth Day activities, making it the biggest secular civic event in the world.
