Tropicana expands stevia-sweetened Trop50 range

PepsiCo-owned Tropicana has introduced a new Trop50 apple juice sweetened with stevia, following on from the success of its Trop50 orange juice, launched in April last year.

The new Trop50 apple juice contains 50 calories per eight-ounce glass, and is sweetened with PureCircle’s PureVia-brand Reb A stevia sweetener.

Vice president of marketing for Tropicana Memo Maquivar said: "It delivers the delicious taste of orchard-ripened apples that consumers crave with less sugar and calories than apple juice, to help you look and feel good without sacrificing enjoyment."

The company said that the Trop50 Farmstand Apple juice will be available in 59-ounce containers from late August.

Last year, Tropicana pulled its Light n’ Healthy orange juice from the market, sweetened with a blend of acesulfame K and sucralose, and replaced it with Trop50, sweetened with stevia.
