ChromaDex has announced the addition of 1,000 new phytochemical and botanical reference standards in its 2011 catalog, including an all-in-one JECFA stevia test kit.

JECFA, the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives, requires that stevia extracts used in foods contain at least 95 percent steviol glycosides – the various sweet components of the stevia leaf.

The new catalog, which now contains more than 4,000 reference materials, also includes about 200 new botanical reference materials, a natural product extract library for use in high-throughput screening, and a product selection guide to quickly locate relevant standards, the company said.

Co-founder and CEO of ChromaDex Frank Jaksch said: “The product selection guide featured in the new catalog, which has now become a resource for the industry, is organized by botanical and truly represents both the depth and breadth of the ChromaDex product line.”
