Agropur to acquire Main Street Ingredients

Quebec-based dairy cooperative Agropur has signed an agreement to acquire Wisconsin-based Main Street Ingredients for an undisclosed sum.

Agropur, which has 27 plants in Canada, the United States and Argentina, had been looking to expand its operations in the United States, and said its acquisition of the supplier of proteins, stabilizers and bakery ingredients was in line with its strategic plan.

Agropur CEO Pierre Claprood said: “This most recent acquisition represents a great fit with our current operations and will allow us to keep building a strong foundation for continued growth.”

Main Street’s CEO Dave Clark said: “Becoming part of the Agropur organization gives Main Street Ingredients broader resources and expertise to continue its impressive growth and innovation, serving food industry customers around the world.”
