Cargill opens innovation center in Brazil
Cargill has opened a new 20,000 square meter innovation center in Brazil, which includes laboratories for flavors, application development and sensory analysis.
The innovation center is based in Campinas, state of Sao Paulo, at a cost of R$20m (about US$12.6m). The laboratories are intended to serve customers in the beverage, baking, confectionery, convenience foods and dairy categories, Cargill said.
Cargill senior vice president Sergio Rial said: "Cargill's Latin American business is growing rapidly…By focusing research and development efforts in the region, Cargill further encourages connectivity with other locations where it does business around the world, creating an environment that favors process, ingredients and product improvements.”
