Kellogg launches gluten-free Rice Krispies in Canada

Kellogg has introduced Rice Krispies Brown Rice gluten-free cereal across Canada to complement the original variety.

Johanne Trudeau, Director,  Nutrition, Kellogg Canada said:"With an increasing number of Canadians being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, experiencing sensitivity to gluten or choosing to follow a gluten-free diet, consumers are looking for more gluten-free food choices and we are filling that need.”

The new cereal uses whole-grain brown rice to replace barley malt, which is the source of gluten in the original Rice Krispies.

It is produced in a separate facility that Kellogg said had been making gluten-free products for almost a decade.

keep the barley out

Thank you Kellogg's. But wouldn't it be so much easier if all the rice krispies were gluten free. I don't think you could notice a taste difference. There may be a day where the majority of people will buy the GF version and 1% buy the rice krispies with barley!
