Kalsec has expanded its Kalamazoo, MI plant with a new finishing center for natural spice, herb and vegetable extracts. The center is named for vice president Harry Todd in recognition of his 50 years of service with the company.

The multi-million dollar investment will provide increased flexibility and automation in the standardization and packaging of the company’s line liquid spice, herb and vegetable extracts. The finishing center includes significant resources devoted to ensuring the highest levels of product quality and food safety standards, according to the company.

Privately held Kalsec offers natural spice, herb and vegetable extracts for use in food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications. Products include spice and herb flavor extracts, natural colors, antioxidants, hop extracts and nutritional ingredients.

Kalsec also offers processing solutions, including its new Duralox Oxidation Management System, a blend of natural, plant-derived ingredients. Kalsec serves more than 70 markets worldwide.
