Arway Confections snaps up Long Grove Confectionery

Arway will retain the Long Grove name and employees. The company adds a 85,000-square-foot facility to its existing 75,000-square-foot factory. Arway’s president and owner Craig Leva, who will continue in his role, said: “We are very excited about this acquisition, the tremendous opportunities, and the natural synergies there are by combining the operations of these two great storied Chicago-area companies.” Arway sells confectionery including bulk chocolates, coated pretzels and roasted nuts, and trail mixes to retailers throughout the US. The company has about 50 full-time employees and also manages its own retail outlet. Long Grove Confectionery has a portfolio of around 300 products including Myrtles , chocolate peanut butter cups, and caramels which are sold in department and speciality stores. The firm also operates a retail store and factory store.

Arway Confections has acquired fellow Illinois based company Long Grove Confectionery for an undisclosed sum.
