Natural preservatives expert Corbion Purac has significantly expanded its research facility in Lenexa, Kansas.

Based at the company's North American HQ, the new expanded laboratory, covering more than 10,000 square feet, is led by an experienced team of meat scientists, culinary technologists and microbiologists, who can help customers assess the sensory and functional properties and shelf-life of meats, sauces, dressings, refrigerated and prepared foods containing Corbion ingredients.

The company will also be conducting in-depth research at the site focusing on microbiology, predictive modeling, and other areas as color stability, yield enhancement, texture and flavor optimization.

Simone Bouman, director business development meat & culinary, said: "The recent expansion marks the third upgrade of the applications center within the last six years, underwriting our commitment to our customers and our innovation strategy.”
