CytoSport launches organic Muscle Milk RTD in US

CytoSport, recently acquired by US firm Hormel Foods for US$450m (€333m), announced the launch of chocolate and vanilla flavor Muscle Milk Organic RTD shakes earlier this week. Each 8.25oz carton of Muscle Milk Organic, which will be available exclusively in Target stores and online at Target.com, contains 15g of US Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified organic dairy protein. Sweetened with organic can sugar and organic stevia, Muscle Milk Organic contains just 120 calories. Commenting, Nikki Brown, chief marketing officer, CytoSport, said that Muscle Milk Organic will enable it to reach a new corner of the market. “We constantly strive to remain on the forefront of product innovation, and we recognize the demand in the marketplace for organic product options,” said Brown in a statement. “The Muscle Milk brand has always appealed to a wide range of consumers...and the organic line meets the workout recovery and snack needs for protein users across the entire spectrum."
