Canadian protein firm recalls beef lips products

The US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall by Bassett & Walker International, Inc, based in Toronto, Canada, on 7 July. It stressed that without the benefit of a full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences existed. The product was produced and shipped on various dates between 2 March 2015 and 7 April 2015, and was distributed to retail outlets and restaurants in the San Diego area of California. The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities on imported products. FSIS and Bassett & Walker International have received no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Canadian protein firm recalls beef lips products

A Canada protein firm has recalled 1,540 pounds of beef lip products produced in Australia that were not presented at the US point of entry for inspection.
