Poultry and fish technology companies join forces

JBT Corporation and The Baader Group said the deal would create new products for fish and poultry processors, combining for example, JBT’s waterjet technology with The Baader Group’s poultry processing, fish processing and X-ray technology. Combining the products from both companies means the North American poultry market will have access to a new complete product handling, portioning, and weighing solution. “The combination of JBT’s waterjet system and The Baader Group’s weighing technology will provide customers with integrated processing solutions that expand throughput and reduce labour costs,” the firms said in a statement. Regina Dedow from The Baader Group’s marketing department told GMN they had struck the deal because they believed it would allow them to “ offer the best and most effective solution for our customers ”. However, she admitted the details had yet to be worked out, including how the two firms would divide labour when lines were being installed and then later being maintained. “ We have just started this cooperation and we will have to work this out ,” she said. JBT delivers portioning, coating, cooking, sterilisation, pasteurisation, freezing, and liquid food processing systems to the global food processing industry. Its products include a vision-guided DSI waterjet portioning and trimming system. The Baader Group is a manufacturer and supplier of food processing machinery and plans, designs and installs complete processing lines for fish and poultry including fish processing facilities ashore and onboard shipping vessels.

Poultry and fish technology companies join forces

Two global technology firms that serve the poultry and fish processing industries have announced a co-operation agreement that will allow them to share and combine their products and expertise.
