With more fiber than cold-pressed juice (4-5g per serving), plus a dose of probiotics (Ganeden’s ultra-resilient BC30 strain), Nomva is targeting consumers seeking simple, minimally processed snacks in a convenient format, says brand owner Phenomenal Foods.

Nomva organic fruit & veg snacks have no added sugars, acids or concentrates, and are processed using high pressure processing (HPP) which destroys harmful microorganisms while retaining more of the vitamins, minerals, and fiber in the produce, claims the Los Angeles-based start-up.

FoodNavigator-USA editor Elaine Watson caught up with co-founder Nina Church at the 2016 Expo West show in Anaheim to find out more about the snacks, which were launched in Southern California late last year and perform the best when they are stocked next to cold pressed juices.

"We take the skin, the seeds, the core, the stem, all of that good stuff you wouldn't normally eat, but is super high in nutritional value and fiber, and blend it together and boost it with probiotics...This gives you a pack that's steeped with nutritional value and immune-boosting benefits."
