Pinnacle Foods to close EVOL plant in Boulder, CO

Related tags Food

The EVOL Foods frozen food manufacturing plant in Boulder, CO, is to close in the first quarter of 2017, with operations shifting to a facility in Fayetteville, AR, operated by parent company Pinnacle Foods.

The 85 employees affected will be encouraged to apply for open positions at other Pinnacle facilities, including at a facility in Denver, CO, said chief supply chain officer Mike Wittman, who said Pinnacle expected to hire c.25 new full-time employees in Fayetteville to work on the EVOL products.

“While it's never an easy decision to close a manufacturing plant,” he said, “this action will ensure the long-term success of the EVOL brand.”

Select products will continue to be produced by contract manufacturers with specialized capabilities.

EVOL Foods is part of Boulder Brands, which was acquired by Pinnacle Foods in 2015 in a $975m deal.
