Lohmann brings distribution back in house

German ferric ingredients and specialty chemicals supplier Dr Paul Lohmann GmbH KG has announced a new supply arrangement for North America that brings brand representation back in house.

Under the new arrangement, a subsidiary, Dr Paul Lohmann Inc (DPL-US), based in Islandia, NY, will distribute the company’s line Ferrous Sulfate products in the region, terminating the long standing agreement with Avantor.  This new arrangement, which started on July 1 of this year, covers all variants and specifications of Ferrous Sulfate dried powder as well as Ferrous Sulfate 7-Hydrate (Hepta).

The original agreement was with Avantor had been signed in 1990 with a predecessor company known as Mallinckrodt Specialty Chemicals Co.  Lohmann noted that proper notification had been provided as Avantor was advised a year in advance of the move.

”Ferrous Sulfate is a very important product line for us, the Dr. Paul Lohmann Company, on a global scale. We are very excited to have it exclusively back under our own brand, and our representative DPLU-US being able to engage directly with Ferrous Sulfate customers in the US also,”​ said Thierry Roulet, Lohmann’s head of operations North America.
