Americanna spearheads edibles market by launching first Cannabis puffs

The new product, named CannaPuffs, is a cross between a marshmallow and a gummy, and it reflects Americanna’s recent “dramatic” expansion, which more than doubles its ability to produce and distribute infused confections to Colorado dispensaries, the company said. “The boosted production allows Americanna to offer its more than 300 dispensary partners in Colorado at least 20 different products between the original gummies and the CannaPuffs,” the cannabis company said in a statement. Brand new to the cannabis edibles market CannaPuffs hit shelves only six months after Americanna sold its first pot-leaf-shaped gummy in Colorado. A recently released BDS Analytics report shows that gummies are now the most popular cannabis edibles in the state with a market share of 22%. Americanna’s founder and CEO, Dan Anglin, said the jet-puffed confections is “brand new to the cannabis edibles marketplace, and it’s also novel in the world of traditional confections.” The puffs come watermelon, strawberry, sour apple and grape flavors in both sour and sweet profiles, and they contain 10 mg cannabis per serving, according to Americanna’s spokesperson, Douglas Brown. The company pointed out that the new edibles benefit from its garden-to-gummy approach, as Americanna grows and extracts all of its own cannabis, as well as its precision closing technology, which ensures exact THC content in each piece of candy. This is a priority for the company in 2017.” When asked whether puffs might triumph over chocolate and gummies as new most welcome cannabis edibles in the future, Brown said it is probably too early to tell, but their flavors are “intense,” and the texture is “extremely pleasing.”
