Coca-Cola’s ultra-filtered premium milk fairlife has launched a children’s ‘Superkids’ variety, available in white milk and chocolate milk.

Fairlife uses a patented cold-filtration process, which separates the components of milk and then recombines them while boosting the protein and calcium proportions, ‘concentrating goodness for more of what you want and less of what you don’t’.

Superkids 2% ultra-filtered milk: 120 calories, 4.5g fat, 8g sugar, 12g protein (per 240ml serve). Also provides vitamin A, calcium, vitamin E, vitamin B12, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin D, riboflavin, phosphorus, zinc.

Superkids 2% chocolate ultra-filtered milk: 140 calories, 5g fat, 12g sugars, 12g protein. Contains the above vitamins & minerals and is sweetened with monk juice concentrate & stevia leaf extract.

Superkids is rolling out in the US in a soft launch and has yet to reach nationwide distribution.

It boasts 125mg DHA Omega-3, no added sugar, 35% DV calcium, 12g high quality protein to support growth and development of muscles, 120-140 calories per serve, and 8g-12g sugar per serve (depending on flavor).

Fairlife says this compares favorably to other milk or plant-based alternatives: for example, Superkids contains 12g protein compared to 8g in organic milk, 1g in almond milk, and 7g in soy milk.

Superkids is available in 52 fl oz (1.5L) bottles or four packs of 8 oz single serve bottles.

Fairlife was launched in 2014, heralding the event as the 'rebirth of milk', after a joint venture between The Coca-Cola Company and Select Milk Producers was created in 2012.

Its process separates the key components of milk – water, butterfat, protein, vitamins and minerals and lactose – and then recombines them in different proportions to create lactose-free milk with a boosted calcium and protein content and 50% less sugar.

Other fairlife products are 2% reduced fat ultra-filtered milk; chocolate 2% reduced fat ultra-filtered milk; fat free ultra-filtered milk, and whole ultra-filtered milk.
