The deal is expected to close by the end of the calendar year, said Conagra CEO Sean Connolly, who said the deal represented “another important step in our ongoing plan to modernize our portfolio and accelerate growth.”
He added: "The Angie's BOOMCHICKAPOP business is a leader in the fast-growing, better-for-you snacking segment. It will be a great complement to our growing snack business."
Founded by husband and wife entrepreneurs Dan and Angie Bastian in 2001, Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP has a presence in the US Canada, South Korea, Peru, the Caribbean and Mexico.

Asked about what the deal would mean for staffing and production at Angie's, a Conagra spokesman said: "At this point we have signed an agreement but the deal needs to be finalized before we can discuss any specifics."
