Santa Rita builds new hatchery

Located in Tehuacán, in the state of Puebla, central-eastern Mexico, Santa Rita’s new hatchery will have a production capacity of five million day-old pullets per year, to supply its customers and the company’s own commercial egg-laying operations. Santa Rita’s owner and president Mercedes Romero Bringas said: “ The new hatchery is a logical next step for us in the integration of our company, from breeding stock through to the delivery of Mr. Egg table eggs to our markets in the Puebla region and in Central Mexico. “ Our brand has a good reputation in the commercial market and ensuring that we have full control in the chain – from breeding stock and commercial egg production to supplying end product to the consumer – is pivotal to further building our operation .” Mexico braced for strong growth She added that having seen Pas Reform’s extensive product, scientific and technological expertise in the incubation of layer lines it was logical for Santa Rita to fit the hatchery with SmartPro setters and hatchers. Of equal importance in Santa Rita’s decision to work with Pas Reform, said Romero Bringas, was being able to call quickly and easily on access to parts and service 24/7 through Pas Reform’s Cuernavaca-based distributor AgroEquip. Ranulfo Ortiz from Agroequip, Pas Reform’s regional business development manager, added: “ This project provides us with an excellent opportunity to build a strong and lasting relationship with Santa Rita. We expect strong growth in the Mexican market for the foreseeable future and companies like Mr. Egg are going to play an important role in the supply of high-quality table eggs, both to businesses and to consumers. ” The business also recently appointed Martijn Janssen to the role of R&D manager. Based at the company’s Zeddam headquarters, Martijn is heading up a team of engineers and product specialists, to deliver a complete portfolio of market-oriented new products and services in the global poultry sector.
