Valencia, California-based flavors and extracts provider Flavor Producers Inc has been recapitalized via a strategic, majority investment from Ceba-Tech Specialty Solutions: a partnership between Chicago-based private equity firm GTCR and food industry veteran Charles A. Nicolais.

Following the deal, Flavor Producers - which operates three facilities and R&D groups in Valencia, CA; Cincinnati, OH, and Linden, NJ -will continue to grow organically and through acquisitions, said CEO Jeff Harris.

“I am thrilled to be part of the next chapter of Flavor Producers by partnering with Charles Nicolais [founder of speciality ingredients provider SensoryEffects] and GTCR. I believe their industry experience and resources can add significant value as we continue to grow organically and through strategic acquisitions of proprietary capabilities and businesses.”

Founded in 1981, Flavor Producers Inc is a leading provider of custom flavors and extracts to the food and beverage industry, with a focus on organic and natural products, supplying 500+ emerging and multinational customers worldwide.

Launched in January 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri, Ceba-Tech is on a mission to build a market-leading platform in the specialty chemicals, materials and ingredients industry.
