JBS enlists ex-military captain for Plumrose USA president

Lopez boasts more than 18 years’ food sector experience, all of which he has spent rising up the Kraft-Heinz ranks. Before commanding a $4bn division of the multinational firm, Lopez served as a captain in the US military. He is now president of Plumrose USA, a business JBS acquired from pork export heavyweight Danish Crown for US$230m in May 2017. The business produces branded bacon, luncheon meat, canned ham and cooked pork ribs. It has five facilities: one in Indiana, two in Iowa, one in Mississippi and one in Vermont. Plumrose USA also runs two meat distribution centres in Indiana and Mississippi.
