We begin our gallery with Once Upon a Farm’s new Storybook Super Smoothies, which take the brand beyond cold-pressed baby food and applesauce pouches to the lunchbox and beyond.
Available in three flavors - Strawberry Banana Swirl, Berry Berry Quite Contrary and Appley Eating Greens - each smoothie contains fresh fruits, veggies, grains, seeds, and coconut milk and will be available at retailers nationwide in June.
Next we head to the snacks aisle with PepsiCo, which has unveiled two new brands: Imag!ne and and Off the Eaten Path.
Imag!ne includes Yogurt Crisps with 8g whole grains, 4g protein and a good source of calcium per serving; and Cheese Stars, with 6g protein per serving.
Off the Eaten Path includes Veggie Crisps, made with rice and vegetables (black beans, green and yellow peas); Rosemary & Olive Oil Hummus Crisps, made from chickpeas; and Sweet Potato crisps made with rice and sweet potato.
The latest innovation from EPIC Provisions – the meat-fueled brand snapped up by General Mills in 2016 – is the EPIC Performance Bar, the brand's first meat-free line of protein bars made with dates, nuts and egg whites sourced from chickens raised in a cage-free environment.
New from baked oat bar brand BOBO’s is the TOAST’R, a whole grain toaster pastry with a gluten-free baked oat crust filled with jams and nut butter that will debut nationally at Whole Foods in May. The TOAST’R will retail at $2.49 and comes in four flavors: Blueberry Lemon Poppyseed, Strawberry Jam, Chocolate Almond Butter, and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
New from Cape Cod Potato Chips is Cape Cod Waves, thick-sliced, wavy-cut potato chips in three flavors: Sea Salt, Reduced Fat Sea Salt and White Cheddar & Sour Cream (MSRP $3.79).
The latest innovation from Ice Breakers is a first-of-its-kind gum sprinkled with edible glitter available as a limited time offer at retailers including CVS, Target, Walgreens and Walmart (MSRP $3.69).
M&M’S has introduced a new flavor - Orange Vanilla Cream – which will be available for a limited-time at Dollar General starting April 30. With every bag old, the brand will donate $1 (up to $20,000) to benefit the Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s investments in family literacy.
Laughing Giraffe Organics, the brand behind the coconut-based Snakaroon cookie, is rolling out new Kick’n Mango and Kick’n Pineapple spiced dehydrated organic fruit snacks, "combining sweet and sour with subtle kick of flavor." Kick’n Mango has a hint of lime and jalapeño while Kick’n Pineapple has a touch of cinnamon and sweet potato.
Protein-packed cottage cheese brand Muuna, meanwhile, now includes probiotics in its complete range of products.
SuperEats is also highlighting protein in its new plant-based puffs, made with sacha inchi, peas, lentils and sorghum, in four flavors: Truffle and Rosemary, Jalapeño Cheddar, Chipotle BBQ, and White Cheddar.
BIGS Sunflower Seeds - part of Conagra Brands – is introducing a BIGS Taco Bell Taco Supreme, which combines fire-roasted, USA-grown sunflower seeds with a spicy taco flavor.
New Keebler Whoopsy! Fudge Stripes cookies are dipped in fudge.
4505 Meats' Cracklins are available in two flavors: Spicy Green Chili & Lime and Sea Salt. Each serving has 7g protein, is made with humanely-raised pork, and is free of hormones and antibiotics (MSRP $4.99).
Chocolate maker Barry Callebaut has launched Gold, a caramel chocolate made from sustainably grown cocoa with “tones of toffee, butter, and cream.”
At Skinny Cow, protein dominates the latest two launches: Protein Sandwiches (8g protein per serving, fewer than 200 calories) and Protein-Packed Light Ice Cream both (20g protein, fewer than 400 calories per carton).
Another brand offering permissible indulgence in the frozen set is Chilly Cow, a new line of light ice cream using ultra-filtered milk that boasts 55% fewer calories, 70% less fat and 60% less sugar than regular ice cream. Each half pint portion has up to 190 calories and comes in a two-pack (MSRP $5.49).
Häagen-Dazs, meanwhile, has just expanded its line of vegan ice cream products to include four new desserts: chocolate-covered vegan ice cream bars and dairy-free pints that feature cookie crumbles. This follows recent dairy-free launches from McConnells, Ben & Jerry’s and Halo Top.
Pulled Oats - a meat substitute made from oats, fava beans, yellow peas, cold-pressed grapeseed oil and salt that’s proved a hit in Finland - is set to hit the US market later this year from Gold&Green Foods Ltd.

Kraft Heinz, meanwhile, has recently unveiled the newest member of the Heinz condiment family: Heinz Real Mayonnaise, containing 100% cage-free eggs, oil, vinegar and lemon juice.
Almond oil is the latest offering from the Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients Division. The oil is produced via a chemical-free, physical refinement process and purified via vacuum and steam, and has a “clean, mild flavor and a subtle, sweet aroma.”
While it is ideal for salad dressings and marinades, its smoke point of 470 F also makes it appropriate for high heat applications typically seen in snack food manufacturing, such as frying and baking.
