Constellation Brands acquires minority stake in alcohol-free sparkling beverage brand TÖST

Constellation Brands’ venture capital group has invested in flavor-forward alcohol-free sparkling beverage brand TÖST.

Dorset, Vermont headquartered TÖST was created to ‘fill the immense space when the consumer is looking for more than a sparkling water when they are not drinking alcohol’.

It is currently sold in 40+ states and seven countries through major retailers, grocers, specialty stores, liquor stores and caterers.

Beer, wine and spirits giant Constellation Brands says TÖST meets growing demand from consumers who are looking for ‘an elegant and sophisticated beverage that happens to be alcohol-free’

The drink comes in two varieties – original and rose – which are both ‘refreshingly dry and not too sweet’ and designed to pair well with any meal or enjoyed on their own.

TÖST has notes of sparkling white tea, cranberry, and ginger, while TÖST ROSÉ has notes of sparkling white tea, ginger, and elderberry.

TÖST is a “never alcohol” product, meaning there is no alcoholic fermentation at any point in the production process, expanding the opportunity to reach an even wider variety of occasions.

Constellation Brands points to figures from Nielsen IQ, which say that 82% of non-alcoholic drink buyers are still purchasing drinks that contain alcohol, meaning TÖST extends the options and opportunity for participation on traditional beer, wine, and spirits occasions, making it a ‘strong complement’ to Constellation’s current portfolio. It also champions the beverage’s complex taste profile, which meets growing consumer interest in having a wider variety of flavor options across all beverages.
