Precision nutrition and food-tech platform AHARA's integration with Instacart allows users to easily add nutritionist-recommended items to their grocery lists on the food delivery platform.

“This strategic collaboration streamlines the process of acquiring essential ingredients, making it easier for individuals to stay on track with their customized precision nutrition plans and prioritize their health,” the company said in a statement.

An emerging player in the personalized nutrition space, AHARA develops “precision nutrition” plans based on evidence-based recommendations that are validated by more than 300 research studies and backed by an international team of nutrition science physicians and researchers from Tufts University, University of Toronto, George Mason University, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy, among others.

Based on their needs, users can select an AHARA nutrition plan that ranges from a $24.95 foundational plan to a $2,400/year premium plan. With each plan, users fill out a science-based questionnaire that delivers personalized insights about their nutrient requirements “without an in-person doctor visit.” The premium version of the plan features an at-home nutrigenetic, epigenetic and biomarker test to analyze nutrient levels, physical age and health risks, along with three consultations with a dietician.

Using AHARA’s personalized nutrition plan, users have access to recipes that fit their dietary needs and can add the ingredients to their Instacart-integrated grocery list for faster delivery.

“AHARA is dedicated to transforming the landscape of precision nutrition through the latest science by making it not effective but also convenient and accessible to everyone. This is the latest in steps we have taken to ensure users can easily discover the nutrients tailored to their body’s unique needs and have all the tools and resources they need to implement lifestyle changes and take control of their health journey and prioritize preventative measures,” Julie Wainwright, co-founder and CEO, AHARA, said in a statement.

The future of personalized nutrition fuses tech, nutrition and genomics

With an estimated market value of $11.3bn in 2022, the personalized nutrition market is expected to reach over $23.2bn by the end of 2027, with a projected CAGR of 15.5% between 2022 to 2027.

A promising sector that combines nutrition with technology and genomics, the personalized nutrition market is poised to grow as health-conscious consumers seek more convenient and customized services that fit both their lifestyles and dietary needs.

Coupled with emerging nutrition research and science to improve understanding of the gut microbiome, as well as AI features like ChatGPT for meal planning, recipe generation and even virtual nutrition coaching, the sector has potential to enhance nutrition management and preventative healthcare.
