What does 'healthy' really mean anyway?
So you want to sell healthier food? But what does that really mean? And is it consistent with your brand?
In a session dedicated to answering these questions, Eric Stangarone and Jeff Decker from consultancy The Culinary Edge took the audience through a whistle stop tour of what healthy can mean to different people, from fast food (healthy convenience food) to the slow food movement, complexity to simplicity, from real to 'fake' (artificial sweeteners), from something we consume under sufferance to prevent illness or lose weight, to something we love that tastes amazing and makes us happy.
He left them with some words of advice: Keep health simple, go easy on the hyperbole, and be real (is what you are doing consistent with what you believe and what your brand stands for, or are you just copying everyone else?)
