Fully vs partially hydrogenated?
As for hydrogenation, consumers don’t understand what it is, and don’t distinguish between partial hydrogenation (which creates harmful trans fats), and full hydrogenation (which doesn't), said Qualisoy consultant Richard Galloway, who says efforts are underway to find an alternative name for FHOs that will satisfy manufacturers, consumers, and regulators.
