Bone broth + veg juice = BRU
One new beverage company that attracted a lot of attention at BevNET Live was BRUBroth, which combines on-trend bone broth (stock that has been made with roasted animal bones and simmered for a long time) and organic veggies such as beetroot, ginger root, and kale.
Although the refrigerated beverages are sold in plastic bottles and merchandised in stores' Grab & Go chillers, they need heating up after purchase, which presents marketing challenges, said judges in the New Beverage Showdown competition.
"If it's sitting in the cold-pressed juice set, people will think it's ready to drink," said BevNET founder & CEO John Craven. However, all of the judges were impressed by the taste and packaging design.
