Relatable Olympic advertising effectively connects consumers
Olympians all strive to be on a pedestal, but during a marketing campaign for their brand sponsors is the not the podium on which they aim to be and it isn’t where they are most effective for brands. Rather, Olympic marketing campaigns should be relatable, Jennifer Shambroom, chief marketing officer at YouAppi says in a post on the mobile advertising and analytics firm’s blog. She notes, “Though most of us will never win an Olympic medal, we can all relate to the values of the Olympics – the pursuit of excellence, teamwork, participation, dedication and respecting our peers. Effective and successful Olympic marketing efforts succeed in presenting these Olympic values in a way that is relatable to all.”
