Barkeater uses uncooked quinoa for crunch
Barkeater Chocolates adds uncooked quinoa to its 63% chocolate Quinoa Ka-pow! bars to create an “explosion in your mouth,” according to the confection’s wrapper. Company Co-founder Deb Morris explained that the company was drawn to quinoa because it provides “great crunch” and “great nutritional benefits, as well,” including a high dose of iron. She added that by using raw quinoa and not using a puffed quinoa, Barkeater can sets it chocolate apart from competitors.
