December - E.coli found in frozen burgers
A Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) investigation found E.coli in frozen burgers as part of an investigation into Cardinal Meat Specialists.
Products were recalled between 12 and 15 December after E.coli 0157:H7 was detected on at least one production day.
At the time of publication, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) had linked the burgers to the illness of five people and one hospitalization.
