April - 'Tuna scrape' salmonella outbreak
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported more than 400 people infected with the salmonella outbreak.
A total of 425 people infected with the outbreak strains of Salmonella Bareilly (410 people) or Salmonella Nchanga (15 people) were reported from 28 states and the District of Columbia, the body said.
55 ill persons were hospitalized and no deaths were reported.
The source was linked to a frozen raw yellowfin tuna product, known as Nakaochi Scrape, from Moon Marine USA Corporation.
The US fish processor recalled nearly 60,000 pounds of the product which is not available for sale to individual consumers but may be used to make sushi, sashimi, ceviche and other dishes.
