3D sweeteners?
Lampados International, meanwhile, is introducing a novel concept to the table-top sweeteners market with liteez: an egg- and sugar-free meringue 'kiss' made from prebiotic fibers, vegetable protein, salt and a high potency sweetener (sucralose or stevia) that dissolves in your coffee or serves as a sweet, vegan, after dinner snack (two kisses have the sweetness of one teaspoon of sugar).
The plan is to start manufacturing the patent-pending '3D sweeteners'- developed in collaboration with innovation company Practical Innovation - in August, Noam Kaplan, CEO of Lampados, told FoodNavigator-USA.
"We launched the product at ISM Cologne in 2016 and we've had interest from all over world."
The initial strategy is to focus on private label business with coffee shops and retailers, said Kaplan, who is also experimenting with adding colors and flavors to the meringues, which will be sold in flow wrapping (learn more HERE).
