From the risks and rewards of energy drinks to what Americans eat for breakfast, strategies to tackle mindless eating and the next generation of gluten-free foods, Houston was the place to be this week as 8,000+ nutrition professionals gathered for the 2013 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE).

Organized by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, FNCE is the world's largest annual get together of nutrition professionals, attracting more than 8,000 registered dietitians, nutrition science researchers, policy makers, health-care providers and food and beverage industry executives.

FoodNavigator-USA headed to the Lone Star State to find out what’s hot and what’s not at the cutting edge of nutrition education.
