Agro-chemical giant Monsanto has ended a long-running dispute with
Syngenta over soy and corn seeds by entering into a licensing
agreement that will allow its Swiss rival to use its technology in
its soy seed activities.
Biotechnology firm Monsanto has carved itself a larger slice of the
Brazilian corn market, announcing today the acquisition of a
leading corn seed company in the country.
Scientists warn this week that our traditional christmas snack of
brazil nuts might not be for much longer if intensive harvesting
practices continue in 'persistently exploited' areas.
