Soy ingredients company Solae has introduced a new hydrolyzed soy protein product to increase the yield of whole muscle meat products such as hams, roast beef, corned beef, turkey breast, and bone-in poultry.
Solae has announced that it has raised the price of its soy ingredients globally by seven to nine percent, citing “general inflationary pressure and the current economic environment.”
Solae is seeking to build sales of its soy ingredients in Central

market, such as dairy and meat replacement and nutrition bars.
US-based Solae has said it will raise prices of its soy protein
ingredients around the world by as much as 30 percent in order for
it to be able to maintain its R&D activities.
Solae has announced price increases for a broad range of its
soy lecithin products from April 1 - just days after warning
of the need for ingredients firms to pass on higher input costs.
Solae has said that ingredients companies will have to continue
their efforts to pass on rising input costs through 2008, but the
relatively lower increases in soy costs compared to other proteins
could provide a business opportunity.
Two new soy-based ingredients could allow
processors to replace higher-priced dairy
counterparts without significantly affecting nutrition and
taste, their manufacturer claims.
Biotech giant Monsanto and soy ingredients supplier Solae are to
develop a new line of soy proteins that they claim will have a
better taste and higher level of solubility than any other soy
protein on the market.
