What strategies are working, both for plaintiffs and defendants, in 'all-natural' food labeling litigation?
One of the most emotive - and politically-charged - claims in food labeling, ‘all-natural’ is also one of the most hotly disputed from a legal perspective.

There has been a flurry of new developments recently, with the FDA just this week telling three federal judges it must politely decline their request to come to an administrative determination of whether GMOs belong in ‘all-natural foods’, while the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) plans to petition the FDA for clarity on this point shortly.

To help you stay up to date, Perrin Conferences - a leading provider in continuing legal education - has invited three leading attorneys to a February 13 webinar - chaired by FoodNavigator-USA editor Elaine Watson - to help food manufacturers address the following key questions:

1 - Is it too risky to label products that may contain GMOs as ‘all-natural’?

2 - How many class actions over all-natural claims on foods and beverages have been filed?  Where have they been filed?  Who has been targeted?  How successful have plaintiffs been so far?

3 - What strategies appear to be working, both for plaintiffs and defendants in these cases?

The three speakers are:

J. Erik Connolly, Esq a partner in Winston & Strawn’s Chicago office who has represented clients in everything from consumer fraud class actions to product liability litigation.

Anne T. Regan, Esq., a partner at Zimmerman Reed in Minneapolis who specializes in antitrust claims, securities fraud, consumer and employee rights and represents businesses and individuals as plaintiffs.

Jeffrey J. White, Esq, a partner at Robinson & Cole in Hartford, Connecticut, who represents clients in every sector from defense, to pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, and consumer goods. He also has experience with class action litigation on product labeling.
