Plant proteins hit the big time
Plant-sourced protein - minus the soy - was a hot trend at this year’s show, with a new offering from Twinlab set to hit the market in June.
Other players in this space include PlantFusion from the new branded products division of New Jersey-based private label supplements maker Reliance.
Containing pea protein isolate, artichoke protein, organic sprouted amaranth powder and organic sprouted quinoa powder, PlantFusion also has added branch chain amino acids so that users get an amino acid profile on a par with leading whey protein-based products.
